What does a business website cost in the UK?
There is no single sensible UK website price because a five-page brochure site, a conversion-focused business site and a connected customer platform are different jobs. A useful budget starts with the business outcome, the amount of original design and content work required, integrations, commerce, accessibility, performance and the level of testing and support expected after launch.
PluginPip currently publishes starting prices of £1,250 for a tightly scoped launch website, £2,995 for a strategy-led business website, £4,995 for an advanced growth website and £7,500 for a bespoke web platform. These are starting points, not promises that every requirement fits the same package.

What pushes the price up?
The biggest cost drivers are usually custom UX and design, the number and complexity of page types, content migration, copy and imagery, e-commerce, booking or membership functions, third-party integrations, multilingual content, accessibility requirements, custom data workflows and the amount of testing required before launch.
A quote that looks expensive can be good value if it includes discovery, architecture, design, development, testing, migration, analytics, technical SEO and a controlled launch. A cheap quote can become expensive if those jobs appear later as extras.

Costs people forget to budget for
Allow for domain renewals, hosting, premium software or licences where required, transactional email, maintenance, backups, monitoring, content changes and future development. None of these automatically need to be expensive, but they should be visible before the website goes live.

How to compare website quotes properly
Compare the scope rather than the headline total. Check who owns the site and accounts, whether hosting and licences are portable, what happens if the project changes, what testing is included, whether SEO foundations are part of the build, how performance is handled and what support exists after launch.
A professional quote should make assumptions and exclusions clear enough that two people can read it and understand what is actually being bought.
