UK2BG: a free, ambitious digital guide to life in Bulgaria
Designed, engineered and launched by Jason Sellstrom of PluginPip Ltd, UK2BG.com helps British people explore moving to Bulgaria and supports those already living there. It brings practical relocation guidance, local settlement information and useful planning tools together in one accessible, search-friendly platform, with the core information free to use.
The challenge
Relocating abroad means navigating fragmented information: residency, healthcare, property, costs, public services, local infrastructure and finding the right place to live. UK2BG was conceived as an independent English-language resource that puts clear, practical information first rather than charging people to read essential guides.
The solution
PluginPip built a scalable content-led platform combining nationwide location discovery with practical guides and interactive research tools. The work spans product strategy, original interface design, structured content, development, technical SEO, accessibility and deployment.

Engineering and quality
Rather than treating search performance and accessibility as afterthoughts, the project integrated them into the build. The work included mobile performance optimisation, semantic page structures, accessible interactions, bilingual presentation of Bulgarian and English place names and addresses, and a location-content architecture designed to grow across thousands of settlements.
During the October 2026 optimisation milestone, UK2BG reached a reported 100/100/100/100 Lighthouse score in the tested run across performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO. Lighthouse is a point-in-time laboratory assessment, not a guarantee of identical scores for every page, device or future visit.
Built for people, not paywalls
UK2BG is owned and operated by PluginPip Ltd. The aim is straightforward: give people considering a move from the UK to Bulgaria, or already building a life there, useful information without charging a membership fee to access ordinary guidance. The platform continues to develop as additional sources and local detail are researched and verified.
